Jessica Ellen Cornish is an English artist and songwriter, who goes by the stage name Jessie J. Her unique style of music, which combines soul vocals as well as electropop, pop and hip-hop has earned her notoriety from a young age. Awards she received include the Critics' Choice Brit Award and the BBC's Sound of 2011 as well numerous nominations. She began her career at the young age of 11, when she was part of the musical 'Whistle Down the Wind' by English composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. Then, she was a part of the 'National Youth Musical Theater which was also in their production of "The Late Sleepers," which was first performed in 2002. The album she released her debut "Who You Are" was released in February 2011. The singer became famous the following year. It was a massive achievement, selling ten thousand copies in the UK, and 34,000 copies in the US in just the first week of publication. It debuted at second on the UK Albums Chart and number 11 on US Billboard 200. Jessie has also been known for her charitable work and she is a part of charities including 'Children in Need,' and "Comic Relief."
